da dobrowin: An awesome strike from the Portuguese served up by the veteran defender gave the Red Devils a scrappy but much-needed 1-0 win at Turf Moor
da esport bet: When Jonny Evans was named in the line-up to face Burnley, many a Manchester United fan shuddered. But after the 35-year-old Northern Irishman led the Red Devils' to an unconvincing but valuable 1-0 win, his name was being sung by the boisterous away fans.
Evans scored a disallowed goal and then delivered a beautiful pass which Bruno Fernandes struck first time into the far corner. The goal had come out of nowhere and after a tough first half in which Burnley striker Zeki Amdouni hit the post and forced a fine save from Andre Onana.
Evans continued to dictate United's play from deep in another unconvincing second half but United finally have an away win at the third time of asking and their miserable run of three consecutive defeats is over. Could this be the first step in Erik ten Hag's side's revival?
GOAL rates Man United's players from Turf Moor…
GettyGoalkeeper & Defence
Andre Onana (6/10):
Made a fine save from Zeki Amdouni's header. Calm as ever on the ball, frequently winding up the Burnley fans by taking an age to take kicks.
Diogo Dalot (5/10):
Booked for a late tackle on Koleosho and had a quiet first half. Got more involved after the break.
Victor Lindelof 6/10):
Had a couple of nervy moments but mostly coped well with the danger Burnley posed and struck up a good understanding with Evans.
Jonny Evans (8/10):
The most unlikely deep-lying playmaker but he changed the game with his stunning chipped pass to Fernandes. His disallowed goal seemed to lift his confidence and he began to play like prime Paolo Maldini, picking perfect passes from deep and marshalling the defence.
Sergio Reguilon (6/10):
More conservative than in his previous appearances. Solid defensively.

Scott McTominay (5/10):
Created almost nothing but showed good awareness to see the game out.
Casemiro (7/10):
A huge improvement on his previous displays this season. Showed great anticipation, made lots of timely blocks and his passing was spot on.
Bruno Fernandes (7/10):
His first-time finish was the touch of a genius. Beyond his match-winner, he contributed surprisingly little.

Hannibal Mejbri (5/10):
Was fully committed and always keen to press his opponent. A few stray passes showed he's not on the same page as his team-mates yet.
Rasmus Hojlund (4/10):
Got bullied and struggled to make much happen up front. Cost United a goal by obstructing James Trafford while offside. Did make some important headed clearances in defence.
Marcus Rashford (4/10):
Uninspired, lacking ideas and imprecise.

Raphael Varane (6/10):
Very assured when he came on in the 79th minute to make his comeback from injury.
Sofyan Amrabat (N/A):
Came on in the 89th minute to make his debut.
Erik ten Hag (6/10):
His team selection just about worked. Kept his substitutions to a minimum for once. Got an ugly win but a win nonetheless.
