The Three Lions faithful expressed their frustration and anger over the poor condition of the pitch at Frankfurt, where Gareth Southgate's troops faced Denmark in their Euro 2024 group match. The pitch, described by many as "absolutely horrendous," nearly caused a significant injury to Walker early in the game, exacerbating concerns about player safety and the quality of the playing surface.

An X user, @SharpieStadiums, was fuming regarding the pitch and wrote: "What the f*ck is this pitch? Absolutely horrendous and extremely dangerous. #Euro2024 #DenEng."
Another user, @ItsJohnRain, wrote: "Is it pitch or is it cake?"
While @agbnufc_ wrote: "I'm not one for excuses but that pitch actually is a disgrace. Every replay you see a chunk of it. I almost don't want Gordons ankles on this shambolic Frankfurt pitch."
Furthermore, @bazdjcooper added: "The pitch in Frankfurt isn’t fit for a car boot sale let alone a European Championship game. Embarrassing and dangerous. #EURo2024."
Whereas, @TillyTweets, asked: "Is this guy underneath the Frankfurt pitch?"
THE BIGGER PICTURE
Walker lost his footing on the treacherous surface and appeared to be in considerable discomfort early on. He received immediate treatment amid fears that he had sustained an ankle injury. Fortunately for England, Walker was able to continue playing after changing his boots, which seemed to provide better traction on the challenging pitch.
The near-miss for Walker did not go unnoticed by Alan Shearer, a former England striker and now a respected football analyst, who was particularly vocal in his criticism. "The surface in Frankfurt is a disgrace," Shearer commented during the live broadcast. "It’s a miracle Kyle Walker didn’t suffer a serious injury out there."
